Many people have a hard enough time keeping their grades up to be considered for acceptance into dental school, but actually goes on when you are in? Click here for a link to a website that gives you a detailed breakdown of dental school curricula and explanation of how things work.
The following videos, created by toothcareers (a website for students interested in dentistry), work well in informing you about the lifestyle of a dental student. Clint and Katie, both dental students, give you answers to some questions that you may have been asking yourself: How hard is dental school? What is it like? How much do I have to study? How much free time will I have to myself?
Clint (a second-year dental student at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry) gives us a sneak peak into the life of a dental student in the first two years. He provides great insight into his life and shows how challenging it is to go through dental school. As hard as it is to get into dental school, it gets even harder when you are accepted. You have loads of books to study, hundreds of terms to remember, and a plethora of tests to take. It is not going to be easy, but clint shows you what to expect and how to cope with the stress of school.
Katie (a fourth-year dental student) gives us insight into the life of a dental student after the first two years. She explains to us that the first two years are very different from the last two, in that the first two are more based on books and studying while the second two put more emphasis on lab and actual dental work practice. She, just like clint, gives us great insight into a dental students life.
